Water Plant/Distribution/Wastewater Operator

The City of Laddonia is now accepting applications for a full-time Water Plant/Distribution/Wastewater Operator. Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2023.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Water quality and standards testing, adjusting chemical feed rates, backwashing plant’s filters, maintaining proper water levels in the ground and elevated tower tanks.
  • Adjusting pumps and motors, checking water levels in the lagoon, sampling and testing lagoon water.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Ability to read and write in order to pass exams.
  • Perform control calculations; work safely; communicate effectively (both orally and written).
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads and the general public.
  • Use and apply basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations.
  • Work alone, with little or no supervision for up to twelve (12) hours
  • Possess a high school diploma/GED, three years of experience in water utilities, and one year experience in wastewater operations preferred.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.

Special Requirements:

  • The minimal technical requirement for this position is a State of Missouri recognized class “C” operator’s license, a class “D” wastewater license and Level II distribution license. The employee will work to obtain these certifications in a timely manner.

Salary based upon experience.
