TRUCK TRAFFIC

Section 345.010. Operation On Posted Streets Prohibited. [Ord. No. 318 §1, 2-13-1999]

Wherever “No Truck Traffic” signs are erected within the City limits of Laddonia, Missouri, indicating vehicular truck traffic limitations, it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a loaded or empty tandem axle or eighteen-wheel truck upon the so-posted streets.

Section 345.020. Designation of Routes. [Ord. No. 318 §2, 2-13-1999]

A. No person shall drive or operate a loaded or empty tandem axle or eighteen-wheel truck, except authorized emergency vehicles and buses, upon any public streets except as permitted in Section 345.030 and Section 345.070 of this Chapter.

B. All other streets of Laddonia shall be designated as “No Truck Traffic” and shall be construed to mean no loaded or empty tandem axle or eighteen-wheel trucks are allowed. “No Truck Traffic” signs shall be placed at each end of these other streets.

Section 345.030. Exceptions. [Ord. No. 318 §3, 2-13-1999]

The restrictions in Section 345.020 of this Chapter shall not apply to vehicles which of necessity shall make distribution or collection of truck load-lots, such as moving vans and solid waste trucks or trucks carrying building materials to construction sites, and such vehicles may enter and pass through residential areas to make such distributions.

Section 345.040. Refrigerated Trucks. [Ord. No. 318 §8, 2-13-1999]

Refrigerated trucks will not be allowed to be parked within one (1) block of a residence without the permission of all residents within a one-block radius.

Section 345.050. Penalties. [Ord. No. 318 §9, 2-13-1999]

Any person violating the provisions of this Chapter, or who shall willfully or negligently damage a street, street sign, bridge, culvert or sewer of the City, shall be liable for the amount of such damage caused to any street, street sign, bridge, culvert or sewer, and shall be guilty of an ordinance violation, and upon conviction thereof in any court of competent jurisdiction by an action of the State or City shall be fined not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00.)

Section 345.060. Violations; Tickets; Complaints. [Ord. No. 318 §10, 2-13-1999]

Tickets of violation of this Chapter shall be issued by any City Police Officer. Any City employee, Alderman, Mayor or any concerned citizen may advise the Police Officer of any violation by signing a formal, written complaint stating that they will be willing to testify in court as to their knowledge of the violation.

Section 345.070. Truck Travel Permitted Without Permit on Certain Streets. [Ord. No. 318 §2, 2-13-1999]

Trucks (as described in Section 345.010) may only travel on the following streets without a valid permit:

Location

East Oak Street, to the grain bins currently owned by ADM, but no further than the intersection of John Street and East Oak Street

North Locust Street, crossing the east railroad crossing to the grain bins currently owned by MFA, but no further than the intersection of Dexter Street and North Street

East First (also known as “East Main”) Street

East Second Street

That portion of the City streets running north and south between East First (also known as “East Main”) Street and East Second Street

Chestnut Street, from East Second Street to Route K, shall be designated “Truck Route,” and a sign shall be placed at each end of Chestnut Street so designating this route
