August 4, 2022 City Council Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Mayor Garnett.

Welcome to everyone was conducted by Mayor Garnett

Recording of the aldermen attendance was conducted by the Mayor Pro Tem.

Hodges moved and Davis seconded a motion to approve the agenda.  Motion passed 3-0.

Patron comments were heard.  Jeremy Fendrick voiced complaints regarding 209 North Street, stating that the property was overgrown.  Kevin Charlton voiced complaints about his neighbor’s dog not being on a leash.  There was a complaint regarding a dog at large at 202 North Young.

There were no building permits currently.

Hodges moved and Davis seconded a motion to approve the July 2022 meeting minutes. Motion passed 3-0.

Hodges moved and Davis seconded a motion to approve the July 2022 reports.  Motion passed 4-0.

Cope moved and Cope seconded a motion to approve the June 2022 Warrant List.  Motion passed 4-0.

Personnel Manual was tabled for next month.

Council discussed the update on the light pole, pole was installed.

Cleaning up the property at 209 North was discussed.

The Signage Variance for Dollar General was previously approved when building permit was approved.

The basketball court for Samuel Fuqua was discussed regarding procedures and organizing a committee.

The city attorney presented information regarding the 4-wheeler ordinance.  This was tabled for next month.

Hodges moved and Cope seconded a motion to enter closed session at 7:13pm. Motion passed 4-0.

Davis moved and Lybarger seconded a motion to enter open session at 7:31 pm. Motion passed 4-0.

Davis moved and Cope seconded a motion to adjourn meeting. Motion passed 4-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:31 pm by Mayor Garnett.
